The following task must be completed in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the network industry, and include access to:

• A network and internet where gateway products may be installed and configured.
• Use of hardware and software currently used in industry.
• Client requirements documentation.
• Vendor specifications.

For this task you are to complete the following steps to configure an internet gateway on at least 1 occasion.

Perform the following steps to confirm the client requirements and the network equipment:

1. Confirm and validate the requirements of the client.
2. With reference to the client requirements, determine the scope of the internet services.
3. Identify the hardware and software components, and install them.
4. Verify the equipment specifications and the availability of the components.

Complete the following steps to review the security issues:

5. With reference to the architecture and the security plan, assess the security features of the internet gateways. (Assign Password and shutdown unused port in the router and Switch).

7. Review the security measures with the ISP, with reference to firewalls and other measures, as required.
