Discussion Prompt: Motivational Interviewing
As a community health nurse, you are assigned a female adult TB patient who was being treated by her primary care physician. You conduct your family assessment and identify the family had multiple health issues. The parents are nurses and both have been diagnosed with obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. Their teenage children are also obese.
Think about what educational tools, interactions and motivation activities would you use to empower this family to take control of their health. Provide evidence-based interventions and utilized motivational interviewing principles.
