Reference List (minimum 22 citations and strictly Harvard style)

Example 1 (Layout/structure)
Topic: Youth crime
Article: Chui, W. and Cheng, K. (2014). Criminal sentiments and behaviours among
• Type of research: Positivistic as the study is based on the observation of the conduct of 942 Chinese youths in Hong Kong with the help of Criminal Sentiments Scale Modified.
• Introducing the research: The study deals with Criminal attitudes within the age group of 14-18 years wherein the, interlink between social factors and criminal sentiments have been analyzed (Chui and Cheng, 2014).

• Findings: The findings of the research reflects that criminal attitudes among the sample is interrelated with criminal behavioral along with aspects like criminal convictions, the number of convictions and self-reported crime commission.
• Conclusion: The research reflects the fact that criminal attitudes influence the aspect of criminal behavior.

Example 2 (106 words describing one article)
Topic: Disability and employment
Yazici et al (2011) used positivism as a research approach. They aimed to determine the legislation method of disabled employees in Eskisehir, Turkey, comparing the employment legislative frameworks of other developed countries. The method used was quantitative as the researchers analysed the numerical data, taken from surveys and questionnaires from the disabled people, working for companies which were forced by the law to employ disabled people, and from their employees. The researchers found that disabled persons had dissatisfaction with their jobs. This resulted to improvement in the lives of the disabled employees, around job satisfaction, social and physical conditions of the workplace, employment methods and legislation.

Example of discussion – Topic area: Domestic Violence and Health
Bacchus, Mezey and Bewley (2003), argue that sign posting women to counsellors or shelters could be more robust at point of medical help. There is a lack of information about organisations that offer other than just specific medical care. According to Gabe and Monaghan (2013) this could be because a medical model of health is too scientific to deal with underlying social issues like housing. The medical model concentrates on the scientific route to health and a more holistic approach would be of more assistance. Hasisi et al. (2016) experimenting on convicted perpetrators of domestic violence and recidivism argue that integrated rehabilitation therapy is effective in reduction of repeat convictions in perpetrators. This could suggest that if victims also got the all-round support packages made to suit at point of contacting health workers, their wellbeing would be significantly improved.

What do I need to do to pass? (Threshold Expectations from UIF)
