the results of any patient studies

Present scholarly articles about new a) treatments and b) prevention for DVT. Discuss the results of any patient studies, including both risks and benefits. Was the information in the articles similar to the patient case you presented in question 1; what was similar or what was not. Below is my patient case: I recently had an encounter with a patient who had developed several DVTs in the lower extremities bilaterally. The patient has a history of uncontrolled diabetes, Coronary Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and is a paraplegic with right foot amputation. The patient most likely developed the DVTs due to having limited movement because of the paralysis and the CHF. The patient denied having any signs or symptoms of DVT, however displayed dry scaly skin on the lower extremities. The DVT was managed with anticoagulant therapy Heparin while hospitalized followed by oral anticoagulant Eliquis at home. The outcome post hospitalization is unknown however the patient was recommended to follow up with the primary physician for continuation of care.
