A persuasive speech to motivate action seeks to influence your audiences behaviors. For this speech you will research a current need or problem in our society. Show the audience how the need or problem affects them and how they personally may become involved to help solve or alleviate the stated need or problem by taking some type of action. Prepare a persuasive message using the classic persuasion strategies discussed in class (ethos, pathos, and logos). This 5 to 7 minute speech must be presented extemporaneously. Use Monroes Motivated Sequence. You must correctly orally cite your sources three times in the speech (See: How to Orally Cite in a Speech document Orally Citing in a Speech- C.docxPreview the document). You must dress in acceptable speech attire and not doing so will result in a loss of points. Minimum of three credible research sources must be used. Two of the three sources must be from news reports or scholarly journals from the past twelve months. The visual aid you will use is: Microsoft PowerPoint. You should have between 5 and 7 slides; not including the title slide). Your slides should be very brief (7X7 at the most- 7 lines down and 7 words across; 2×2 minimum). Please no graphic or gruesome (photos and video clips) in your PowerPoint. No picture only slides. You must have words (not just for the title) in your PowerPoint. Informative Speech documentation file includes: (20 points) _ Fully developed speech outline: Attention getter, thesis statement, preview, main points with supporting details, transitions, summary, and closing remarks are clearly identified and proper speech outline format is used. (Typed in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, Font size 12). _ Bibliography (Works Cited Page) in APA format. (Typed in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, Font size 12). _ Print screen the first page of all research sources used must be included in the documentation file. _ Your whole speech should be written in the outline format.
