The synthesis of ideas into new knowledge is the primary goal of doctoral education as expressed in the doctoral dissertation. This skill requires practice. Further, proposing solutions (applications) based in relevant theory and synthesizing theories into new ones to create further solutions is important for the doctoral learner. In this assignment, you will synthesize relevant theories to create a new construct for adult education. The construct developed will be a model of integration that evolves from the synthesis of the theories.
Write a paper (1,500-1,750 words) in which you synthesize relevant theories to create a new construct for adult education. Include the following in your paper:
1. A brief overview of at least three relevant theories of adult education.
2. A discussion of how the ideas of these theories could be synthesized to form a new construct.
3. A discussion of how your worldview influenced the development of this new construct. (Benchmarks C6.2: Synthesize adult learning theory with worldview.)
4. A discussion of how this new construct could be applied as a solution in adult learning. (Benchmarks C6.5: Propose applications of adult learning strategies.)
