[ad_1]
Use a designated motor skills assessment to assess a childs (age 3-8 years) motor skills (Object Control; Locomotor Skills) and make recommendations for development. You will need to get parental consent to observe the child playing and have a current Working With Children Check. You are expected to demonstrate your understanding of the importance of assessing motor skills and young children’s development. Depending on the age of the child you may include the object control skills; catching, rolling, throwing, kicking and locomotor skills; walking, running, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, leaping, sliding. Clearly, describe the assessment tool. The assessments will provide an objective assessment of the performance of the individual linked to chronological age group. These will include specific criteria and descriptions. Strategies will be linked directly to the understanding of the related motor skills. Based on the descriptions and criteria for each fundamental motor skills. Specific descriptions and actions could be targeted to enhance the “learning” of fundamental motor skills.
