- formulate your own analysis
- compose an essay that combines your summary of the article and your analysis of the article.

Detailed Instructions:
Your essay should consist of 2-3 typed, double-spaced pages. Focus your essay on an subject that interests and/or concerns you.
- Times New Roman or Arial
- Font size 12
- 1” margins on all sides
- Proper MLA citation of your source (use Purdue OWL as a reference)
- Correct grammar and mechanics
Include these parts in your essay:
Title
- Catch the reader’s attention with a creative, relevant phrase.
- Avoid a too general title (for instance “Educational Standards” or “Gun control”)
- Titles should be longer than 3 words
- Titles are NOT bold, italic or underlined
Introduction paragraph (1)
- Make sure to use attribution the first time you are introducing your audience to what you are analyzing and summarizing (see section on attribution)
