RESPOND TO A PEER:
I think that one of the most significant weakness in the US health care system is protecting staff and workers during this pandemic. Sadly, health care workers must go to work because people are still in need of medical care during COVID and on top of all the people who have tested positive for COVID. I understand when you are working in the medical field you know that you will be put at risk of all kinds of contagious viruses and diseases. I feel that during COVID doctors and nursing was begging for supplies like test, face shield etc… They had to put their lives on the line because health care workers had to go to work. My cousin is a RN in Philadelphia and they wanted to pay her $150 and hour to travel and stay in NY during the pandemic because they need help because NY number was very high, she denied the offer because of her children at home she was afraid. We are always going to need help in the health care, and I think we will when we get this second wave that they are predicting. This can also tune into some mental health issues because of this situation during the pandemic.
