Mid-Term Exam
No outside sources are to be used. For your exam to be accepted as valid, you must have with you either the hard cover or paper back copy of The Color of Water by James McBride. All electronic devices must be turned off, no exceptions.
Your essay will be graded on the following: An interesting introduction (thesis statement), the body with specific detail, a well-rounded conclusion, and grammar. Proofread carefully for run-on sentences and sentence fragments. Your exam need not be typed; however, time permitting, that would be appreciated. If your exam is handwritten, no problem, but please write legibly.
Suggestion: Focus free-write your draft on scrap paper and the final essay on 8 ½” by 11” paper, writing on every other line in either blue or black ink. When you are satisfied with the final copy, submit your completed exam and draft in MS Word, to Dardouni@msn.com.
