PHIL 200: Introduction to Philosophy
TERM PAPER ASSIGNMENT—Book Review: Sophie’s World
This will be one of the most interesting, challenging and memorable novels that you will read. In the novel, you will meet Sophie Amundsen and follow her on her journey through the centuries of history of human philosophy. As you journey along with her, you will discover much about the diverse range of philosophical thought. You will also engage with the mystery that troubles Sophie along the way—why are so many disturbing and unexplainable things occurring to her?
PHIL 200 Term Paper Fall20

- c) Describe your reaction to the revelations of the mystery that troubles Sophie and the true identity of the book’s author. How did it affect your understanding of the book? How does this revelation relate to our own questions of existence? (Both these questions MUST be addressed!)
As you can clearly see, the book must be read in its entirety in order for you to properly respond in your review. Papers must be at least 1,000 words long and must conform to the rules of academic-quality standard written English.
