Research Paper Guideline for BHS 103 Social Problems in Today’s World Research Paper due: Friday, November 6th via email:

Please note: Late submissions will result in points deducted from research paper grade. Research papers will not be accepted after Friday, November 13th.

Guidelines for writing Research Paper:

• Begin by finding an illustration (picture) out of a newspaper, magazine, book, internet or any reputable source that depicts a social problem in society today.
• Include this picture in your research paper.
• Describe what you think is going on in the picture. What is the social problem

  represented in the picture?

• Within the content area of your paper you should write about this social problem. Include facts, data, statistics in your paper and then analyze and discuss this information with thoughtful analysis.
• Remember to use your Sociological Imagination.

  All Research Papers must include:

• Cover sheet with: First and Last Name / Course / Date / Title
• Illustration (picture) on separate sheet with identification of social problem listed

  underneath picture.

• Content of paper should include an introduction, body, and conclusion (the content section should be a minimum of 4 pages typed / double spaced).
• Citation Page (Work Cited): If there is no Citation Page it is considered plagiarism and is an automatic F.
• No less than 3 sources must be cited or points will be taken off.
