This assignment will be to listen to and analyze two episodes of a podcast series.

Choose a podcast by browsing your topic of choice: politics, crime, social issues. Please look for a podcast that has a series of episodes on the same topic. I use my apple podcast icon/app, but you can find podcasts on spotify, stitcher, etc.

Here are some of my favorites: Season One of Serial (feature the case against Adnan Syed), Rabbit Hole, Up and Vanished but there are many more to choose from.

First, you will need to listen to two episodes of the podcast. This will give you a sense of the story being told, the people involved, and the style of the podcast. Usually they consist of one or more hosts (narrators), interviews, music, etc.

Your Podcast Review paper will be a total of four pages incorporating the items below.

1. Review
Write a 2 page review of the podcast focusing on the following:

a. What is the podcast about? Is there background information necessary to understand the story?

b. Who are the experts and sources used in the story? Are they credible? Why or Why not? c. What is the evidence or what are the details of these episodes?
d. What do you see as the next steps going into the next episodes of the podcast?
2. Analysis 1 page

a. What is the narrator’s aim in publishing the podcast? What is at stake? b. Does the narrator have a clear bias? What is it?
c. What is the tone or mood of the podcast and how is this achieved?
3. Your experience 1 page

a. Will you continue listening?
b. What was most effective? What was problematic? c. Did you learn anything new?
Please write in paragraph form using MLA format.
