Often when people migrate into a new culture, they adopt the forms of dress worn by that culture. As Islamic women have migrated into western cultures, many have continued to wear the headscarf. Continuing to wear a headscarf makes their appearance unique in some situations. Why might young women, in particular, continue to wear this form of dress when they are not forced to? Other than to signify religious affiliation, how might this clothing function for these women? Make sure that your reflection essay is not a personal opinion paper, but a critical analytical reflection on the issue.
