Todays concept of medical necessity determines the extent to which individuals with health conditions receive health care services. Medical necessity is the measure of whether a procedure is appropriate for the diagnosis and the treatment of a condition. This decision making process is based on the insurance company and the providers documentation. Rhinoplasty is sometimes considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance.
