Professional Identity Paper Guidelines and Rubric

Each student will write an APA style paper 3-5 full pages (does not include cover and references) on the professional identity of a school counselor (if you are in the school counseling program) or a mental health counselor (if you are in the mh program). You are to use at least 2 peer-reviewed journals for your paper. Journals must be counseling, school counseling, or counselor educator focus. You are not to solely rely on your textbook
Paper must have the following:
Title page
Body, which must address these questions.
· How do you define being School or Mental Health counselor and how is this different than other helping relationships?
· How does the role of advocating on behalf of the profession and client fit into this?
· What role does self-care take in maintaining the ethical standards of best practice?
· Finally, what does it mean to develop the person of the counselor as a person and not just a counselor.
· Conclusion
