Strengths– The most significant source of influence for Chicago’s Department of Buildings is that it has the county government’s support when addressing any pending issues. Notably, there are clear directives about how to handle an abandoned building. Any premises that have been vacated for more than 30 days should be registered, ensuring the county government always has insights into any such structures (Cook County Government, 2020). Weaknesses- Vacant buildings attract different issues that are unfavorable for the county.
