The purpose of this paper is to complete a Health Care analysis with a comparison to two faith philosophies towards providing health care, one being the Christian perspective regardless of denomination of Christian faith such as Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Mormon, Judaism, etc., You’re not choosing a Christian faith. This is strictly the Christian faith only (do not write about any faith listed above, it is just the Christian faith).
For the second faith, choose a faith that is unfamiliar to you and is not of the Christian faith or associated to the Christian faith. Faiths to choose from include Sikh, Baha’i, Taoism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Only choose from these religions listed.
Now that you have the Christian faith and the other faith selected, you need to research how health care is practiced in the areas these religions are most prevalent. You are not researching how the Christian does health care or how the Buddhist does health care, you first need to find out where the religion is most prevalent. Christians are most prevalent in America, so you would research western medicine practices. You need to find out where the other religion you choose is most prevalent and research medical practices in that country. provide a complete synopsis (Summary) style analysis of Health Care on the three components of the health care system (Provider-patient interactions, Medical processes, and Medicinal therapies/practices) with a comparison of the different belief systems, reinforcing major themes with insights gained from your research.
There will be three paragraphs in each section of analysis (under Christian and under religion chosen), where you will analyze something specific under each component listed. For Patient-Interaction you need to analyze a specific provider and discuss what they do and why it is important to patient interaction. Analysis is mandatory 12 to 20 sentences. Absolutely no discussion of the religion in the analysis portion, this is strictly about health care practices in the health care industry only (basically in the hospital). Have a at least one citation in the analysis, but never more than two as long as they are not quoted.
For medical processes you are required to analyze a specific medical process. Medical processes are anything done to a patient. This could be a type of surgery, organ donation/transplant, putting on a cast, diagnostic procedures, etc…You are required to discuss what it is, what is being done, and how it is done. Analysis is mandatory 12 to 20 sentences. Absolutely no discussion of the religion in the analysis portion, this is strictly about health care practices in the health care industry only (basically in the hospital). Have a at least one citation in the analysis, but never more than two as long as they are not quoted.
Finally for medicinal therapies you are required to pick a specific medicinal therapy. these are medication therapies for specific things such as pain management, diabetic therapy, anti-rejection medication therapy, etc… you will need to discuss what it is, and its therapeutic practices. Analysis is mandatory 12 to 20 sentences. Absolutely no discussion of the religion in the analysis portion, this is strictly about health care practices in the health care industry only (basically in the hospital). Have a at least one citation in the analysis, but never more than two as long as they are not quoted.
Finally, in each paragraph, you are required to add three to four more sentences where you demonstrate how what was just analyzed is foundational to that faith in that section (Have one scripture citation from the religions Holy Scriptures. Each religion will have scriptures they use). This is required for each religion. The analysis portion of this assignment is worth 40% of the grade and must have all three components discussed well for each religion.
You will also be required to answer the following questions based on the research:
What are critical common to all religions/belief’s spiritual components of healing (Health care related not religious practices such as prayer, meditation, or in general), but must be health care related such as medication restrictions, Holistic approaches to medicine, Dietary restrictions, etc.? You must choose 2 and discuss what the commonality is in health care only, how it is practiced in health care only and how it is common between the two religions. Each paragraph will answer the same questions just listed. Remember absolutely no discussion of the religion except for how it is common between them in each paragraph.
What is important to patients of the faiths when cared for by health care providers whose spiritual beliefs differ from their own? Need to discuss 2 components that are important in knowing as to not ever offend a person of any faith. Here you are to discuss things that are not in practice (even if practiced poorly, or inconsistently). These are things that must be known if practiced correctly and all the time would create an environment that would never offend anyone regardless of their religious preferences. Again absolutely no discussion of the religion, this is health care things that if practiced well. Things such as inclusion of spiritual care (Holistic and homeopathic), creating an environment of truth (being vulnerable with the patient, using things such as awareness, acceptance, and asking), same sex health care providers, etc… These things must be health care related and things that are not already being practiced.
Finally In your conclusion, you will describe what you have learned from the research, how this learning can be applied to a health care provider, and finally your personal perspective on healing (remember, no first or second person in this paper). This will be three separate paragraphs to achieve this.
Remember this is a health care paper and not a religious paper. There is absolutely minimal discussion of the religious practices as you are required to research the health care system where each religion is most prevalent and then analyze that health care system as well as answer each question.
