B)  How to Research:

Go to “SEARCH” in the upper right and click. Place the names of your chosen artists in this space and click “Go” to view the paintings of each artist.

Collect and place your two chosen images of your selected works of art at the top of your paper (directions are in the Virtual Museum Assignment Choices Discussion where the works were selected for approval), along with your name, date, and names of the two works of art and the artists (if known), as well as the MMA accession number.

Start with main concepts and then move to relevant details to compare and contrast the two chosen works. (Remember to state the obvious.)

C) How to Write about what you have seen in each color painting.

Research and Observation: Use information from the museum site and your own analysis. Write in your own words; if you copy and paste you receive no credit. If you do not find enough information on the museum site, do not use Wikipedia or any other blog for content and context information. An exception is a “credible” source such as The New York Times blog, or Art Museum publications, e.g.,  Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, etc. or University publications, e.g., Harvard, Yale, Stamford, etc, or Art publishers, such as Rizzoli, Phaidon, Taschen, Abrams, etc. Include any references you use in addition to the Metropolitan Museum of Art placed at the base of your paper.

Review a Lesson to make sure you understand what to write about. Review the topic terms in your Lesson glossary. Write the minimum, use sentences, and make sure your information fits the topic. You must be original. Turnitin will be reporting on non-original or previously published written text. You can check this before saving your paper to the Virtual Art Museum location. Non-original writing cannot be graded. No quotes are permitted. Word count at least 500+ words for the submission.
