Your assignment is to generate a new hypothesis about human social behavior. You will begin by watching people for an hour in a location of your choosing. Make some observations and note them mentally or write them down.

Then, log in to Canvas and write up to 1 page about your observations. Begin by briefly summarizing what you saw. Next, generate a novel explanatory hypothesis about human behavior. This means that you should make a general prediction about how people will think or behave in a certain situation. Importantly, you should explain WHY the behavior will occur as predicted. Recall the example from class today about group size and helping behavior, in which people are predicted to be LESS likely to help if MORE people are around BECAUSE they will assume that the others will step in to help.
