Think in relation to a college professor, John, who claims he is a superior teacher because his Introduction to Psychology class performed better than the class taught by another teacher Drew, did on their final exam.

Validating a research study is important because it enables researchers and researchers’ supervisors to ensure that the conclusions drawn from the research can be applied appropriately in future research and that the results are accurate. Validity and dependability are important requirements for measuring instruments because they ensure the integrity and quality of the instruments. The year is 2017 (Mohajan, 2017). The internal validity of a result is determined by whether the results due to the variables were measured or manipulated. John’s group performing better does not automatically make him the best teacher; there are numerous factors to consider when determining whether or not he is the best teacher. John is simply considering the possibility that his ability to teach is the most important variable influencing student performance. There are many things that need to be analyzed in the two classrooms in order to prove that he is the best teacher. For example, if both groups take the test in the same conditions, it is possible that the Drew group classroom has more distractions and noises, making it difficult for students to concentrate. In addition, the time of day should be considered: John took the test at 9:00 am, while Drew’s test was scheduled for 3:00 pm. Another thing to consider is that Drew class may have two tests on the same day, making it more difficult for them to concentrate on one subject because they must share study time with their classmates. An extensive number of factors must be taken into consideration before drawing the conclusion that the most important variable of the study is the teacher’s role in producing positive results.
High internal validity in a study indicates that the findings can be applied or generalized beyond the data collection setting. This includes other people, different places and different times. In the assignment, you’ll learn that the situation you describe has external validity. The use of this parameter to determine whether a professor is good or bad based solely on the performance of the test will result in an unfair qualification of the professor. In order for this research to be applicable on a larger scale, the researcher must be given enough time to consider how externalities at the school could impact the research and devise a strategy to minimize the impact as much as possible during the research.
The results of experiments carried out in a controlled environment (lab) are more accurate because the researchers have more time to plan the environment and can manipulate the variables. This makes the experiment easy to replicate and allows the researchers to establish a causal relationship between the variables.
