“Women & the History of Artâ€
Prompt: In conjunction with the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ campaign to elevate the work of women artists throughout history, after working through the assigned readings, identify a woman artist working during the 18-19th centuries and provide an analysis of a specific work of art they created. This analysis should highlight the ways in which the artist negotiated the gender inequalities of their time to earn a living professionally and/or exhibit work publicly.
