In this assignment you will write a 300 word Discussion Post about nonverbal communication. You may choose one of the below options to discuss.
Topic #1: Of the 9 forms of nonverbal communication, which two do you feel are most important in the expression of your own self-identity and why?
Topic #2: Of the 9 forms of nonverbal communication, which two do you believe you use most effectively to get others to listen/pay attention.
Your Discussion Post must be 300 words in length. Be sure to properly cite the source of any information you use to write your post. This means providing in-text citations and including a reference for anything you do cite.
The first 10 students to post their own Discussion Post will receive 20 extra credit points.
You will also be required to respond to a post of a classmate of your choosing. This response has no word limit but your response must be substantive. This means your response can’t just be “Wow, that was an insightful post. I had never thought of that before, but I agree with your argumentâ€. So what should your response include?? You could provide further evidence to elaborate on your classmate’s post. You could discuss how the post relates to another book, theory, news story, pop-culture, or your own nonverbal tendencies. Of course, it will all depend on the content in your classmate’s response.
To allow for enough time for each student to receive a response, your original post must be submitted by 11:59PM EST on 3/30 (the due date listed for this assignment) but your response to a classmate isn’t due until 11:59pm EST on 4/1.
