Understanding how to conduct a career assessment is a foundational skill. The effective use of assessment can help identify the presenting issues, diagnoses, and the environmental, social, and cultural factors that can influence treatment. The assessment results aid in the case conceptualization and development of a treatment plan that can be used to assist clients in their career decision-making. Tasks: Watch the video titled “Career Counseling: Skills for Guided Discovery and Career Assessment,“ and then in a minimum of 200 words, post to the Discussion Area your responses to the following: Identify the client’s presenting issues and describe what you learned about the client’s values, interests, and abilities.
