Hello All,
My name is Preetha Kachappilly. Currently, I am working as a nurse practitioner with Gulati and Associates. I have been a nurse for more than 14 years and have been working as a nurse practitioner since I graduated from Nova Southeastern University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Although I like to watch movies, listen to music and travel. My goals for doctoral study are to advance in my career and to gain knowledge to become a lifelong learner and leader.
My Philosophy of Nursing
Nursing is an honorable career and I truly believe that the desire to help through nursing. My philosophy is that I have a responsibility to the public to provide safe, holistic, patient-centered care. Nurses are the healthcare professionals who spend the most time with people and are therefore able to act as their advocates, with care providers managing the continuity of care (Byrne et.al., 2020). Nurses and health care providers have a commitment to keep current knowledge and skills and seek self-enhancement through perpetual learning. Education and training programs may be provided to enhance nurses’ ethical sensitivity and improve their understanding of decision-making processes in conflict situations (Lee et.al., 2020). Through DNP education, I will enhance my skills in critical thinking, patient education, and communication. Root et.al. (2018) explain DNP graduates are prepared to practice at the most advanced level of nursing by synthesizing, translating, and applying the most sophisticated evidence into clinical practice. My aim is to proudly provide nonjudgmental care to those in need regardless of race, spiritual beliefs, lifestyle choices, financial status, or disability.
