Throughout your academic career as a student in the Mental Health Counseling program, you have explored Walden University’s mission of positive social change. Now, as you prepare to become a professional counselor and have the experiences of many courses and your counseling instruction behind you, consider how you can effect positive social change in your in the counseling field.

NOTE: For the last 9 months, I had been doing some outreach work in the Hispanic/Spanish-speaking population in my area, bringing them mental health counseling services that were previously unavailable to them. My approach to social change is to continue to develop my contacts within the Hispanic community and offer them counseling services. Perhaps you could use this as the basis for the paper. I currently meet twice a month with two local Hispanic community centers to assess their needs and the needs of the low-income families who may need counseling.
