Draft the section of your rationale essay on goals and contexts. Use the ideas you developed when doing the required readings and activities for this module. Refer to all of your reading to review the types of questions to answer in your discussion of goals and contexts, as well as to the page Writing about Goals, which summarizes those questions.
As you write, imagine that you are talking to the Academic Review Committee as it reviews your proposed degree program and rationale essay, and they have just asked you why you are planning a degree.
You should write approximately 1/2 page (minimum) to 2 pages (maximum) on goals and contexts. Length of this section is not as important as type and specificity of information. Again, you need to help outside readers understand the personal, academic, and/or professional goals and the contexts in which you are pursuing your degree.
