The theory I feel that is the most appealing is Incentive theories; this theory shows people are motivated by “positive goals”. This theory also appeals to people who I work with. Working towards my goals is always having a positive behavior towards my co-workers and the children at the preschool I work at. To motivate others and myself to work more effectively is maybe having the same state of mind, for example if we are positive with the children; because of their behavioral issues then they will not act out and be happy. We typically use reinforcements; like for example if they do their work then they will be able to play, but if they don’t do their work then they have to sit at the table still and do their work. they will be able to play after their work is finished. We also take a toy and say to that child if they want to play with the “specific toy,” then that child needs to listen. This theory, helps me motivate myself towards my goals because it helps me learn how to be with children, for when I become a teacher. It also shows me that if I work hard enough, I will get to where I need to be. To increase motivation for myself, is that I need to keep having a positive aspect on my goals. Other approaches would not quite work; like having a negative attitude isn’t going to get me where I need to be.
