This is a formal APA paper, not an opinion paper. Include APA title and reference pages. Do not submit an abstract. The paper should be formatted using an appropriate font as specified by APA 7th edition, double-spaced, in a Word document. The content should be covered in 5-6 pages, not counting title page and reference page(s). Be sure to include thoughtful introduction and conclusion paragraphs. Use topic headings to separate each section (pp. 47-49 of the APA 7th ed. manual). Submit your paper to the Turn It In link located within Canvas. Per the SON policy, all work submitted through Turn It In must have a less than 20% similarity index score or there will be an automatic 10-point penalty deduction. You have multiple opportunities to submit your revised paper through Turn It In to achieve an acceptable similarity index score. See the information about quotes beginning on page 269 of the APA manual; do not quote unless it absolutely cannot be paraphrased without losing the meaning. Any included quote that is not properly cited/referenced is considered plagiarism. Wikipedia/other online dictionaries are not scholarly and cannot be used. Points are deducted if you use an online dictionary. No date (n.d.), anonymous, or “no author” references are not acceptable. Do not only use web sites for references. Only .edu, .gov sites, or a professional web site may be used. Do not use blogs. The best references are scholarly, peer reviewed journal articles. Required references must be current within the past five (5) years or they will not be accepted/allowed. For all references, especially a web link, the instructor must be able to access it without any special login information. PowerPoint presentations, lectures, or personal communications are not allowed.
