Assignment 2: Policy and You
This module provided you with an overview of the purpose of social policy advocacy, the policy development cycle, and the importance of understanding the political environment in which a policy is developed. Social policy impacts everyone at some point. Using your textbook, the Argosy University Online library resources, and the Internet, explore these concepts further. Search for any specific information as it relates to the human services field, social policy, and/or policy advocacy.
Tasks:
In a minimum of 300 words, post your responses to the following:
- Discuss the purposes or goals of policy advocacy. What is it intended to achieve and for whom?
- Discuss a social policy that has impacted or has the potential to impact you personally or professionally (such as the organization for which you work). Describe the policy and discuss what impacts, both positive and negative, it will have on you.
