Summative Evaluation and Development Plan
See upload for many of my responses – I did leave a few answers blank because I not sure, so any feedback or response is fine.
It is time for you to do a summative personal evaluation of your counseling skills development experience. Earning a “B–” or better in this course moves you to the next level, an intermediate beginner. You must continue to challenge yourself, as we all must, to grow professionally. When we stop growing, we lose value for our clients, ourselves, and our profession.
Action Steps:
Do a self-evaluation on the following:
- What are your strengths?
- What area(s) challenges you? (Remember that the development of self-awareness and self-reflection are important skills.)
- How will you continue to work on challenging yourself to maintain and move towards excellence in your counseling skills?
- How will you integrate feedback from your clients into this process?
Tasks:
In a minimum of 400 words, after reflecting on all you have learned in the course and all your practice, post to the Discussion Area your responses to the following:
- What skills do you think are your current strengths?
- What counseling skills still challenge you?
- How will you refine your skills?
- How will you refine your case conceptualization and intentionality?
- How will you continue to value and integrate client feedback into your self-improvement efforts?
- How will you maintain healthy boundaries and promote self-care?
- How will you continue to work on challenging yourself to maintain and move towards excellence in your counseling skills?
- Describe research-supported strategies for all the aspects of improvement noted above.
Support your rationale and analysis by using at least two resources from professional literature in your response. Professional literature may include the University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencieThrough the end of the modules, or institutions (websites ending in .edu or .gov).
Your discussion posts and all written assignments should reflect graduate level writing skills and appropriate use of APA style, including in-text citations and references.
