Week 8 Reflection
Students will be required to post a reflection in response to the weekly prompt. These reflections are meant to be posted after other assignments for the week have been submitted. They are designed to allow students to reflect on the content from the week and share what they have learned with their classmates. Answer one of the following questions in a post by clicking on “Reply†in the Discussion Board. Reflections should be at least 300 words or can be a 2-3 minute video. You do not need to reply to your classmates’ posts on the Reflections, but feel free to do so if you desire.
- Describe the economic conditions of the 1970s including stagflation and the end of the post-World War II economic boom. How did Presidents Ford and Carter attempt to resolve the problem?
- Evaluate the reaction to the 1960s social movements. Describe the rise of the New Right.
- Identify one policy or influence from Reagan’s presidency that can still be seen in America today.
- Describe the divisions and “culture wars” that plagued the nation during the 1980s. What effects from these events/issues do we see today?
- Identify one event or development since 1992 that profoundly changed American History and briefly explain why.
