Then go to the web page of BOTH your Texas state senator and Texas state representative and write a paper/personal profile on EACH of them, covering the following topics (feel free to Google either person to access the necessary information):
1. prior political experience
2. length of service in the Texas Legislature
3. political party affiliation
4. committee assignments & what the responsibilities/legislative issues of each committee is
5. important legislation they have sponsored and/or supported
6. their stands on the important political issues
7. any other interesting or relevant information you learned
8. YOUR conclusions on what you have learned (summarized in paragraph form:
-what were you impressed or surprised about what you learned?
-Were you disappointed in anything you learned about your state senator and state representative? -Do the priorities of their legislator align with the policy issues they believe are important?
-Would you support and vote for either one when they run for re-election?—give reasons for your answer.
Remember you must do this assignment for both your Texas Senator (in the Texas Congress) and your Texas State Representative (in the Texas Congress).
2. For this assignment, you will need to read chapter seven (7) in your text. What I am looking for in this assignment is for you to become the instructor for chapter 7 and do a power point presentation that would help others learn the important facts about chapter 7 (as well as why this is important). You need to have at least 10 slides (i.e- ten important facts) and a final slide that summarizes the chapter overall.
In any powerpoint, you never put all of your words on your slide so please make sure that you utilize the notes section of your powerpoint to tell us what you would say per point. Failure to do so will result on a zero on the assignment.
