In this Forum, you may copy and paste the Autobiography used in the Autobiography assignment as your first posting. If you are not comfortable with that, you may write a brief, edited version for this assignment.
I am a native Houstonian who went to all Houston ISD schools. I then attended the University of Houston where I received a BA in Music with a Minor in History. I moved to El Paso, Lubbock and Amarillo after graduating. I have worked as an apartment leasing agent, professional violinist, substitute teacher, optometric assistant as well as managing a few optometry practices. I stayed in the Panhandle to work on my MA in History at West Texas A&M University. I have recently returned to graduate school to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Native American Studies at Montana State University.
I returned to Houston and taught elementary school music in Pasadena for 7 years before I left to pursue college teaching full time. I have worked for Houston Community College since 2001 and thoroughly enjoy it! I have also taught at Alvin CC, Lone Star CC, San Jacinto CC, Laredo CC and College of the Mainland. I now teach full-time for HCC.
I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, traveling and activism as well as many other things. I enjoy mystery novels and non fiction books. I have traveled to almost 40 of the 50 states, a few European countries, Canada and Mexico.
