One common family constellation is that of a single-parent family. This assignment is designed to assist you to become more prepared for counseling single-parent families.

Discuss three assumptions you held, prior to the course, about the term “single-parent family.” This discussion should connect with your family of origin and culture community of origin.
Identify and briefly discuss three ways in which the class has broadened your view of the range of families that you now understand to be single-parent families.
Identify and briefly discuss three challenges from your family of origin that merit reflection, research, or supervision in order to expand your readiness to provide counseling to single-parent families.
Your final deliverable will utilize a minimum of three scholarly references (the textbook may be utilized as one of these references). Your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation following current APA requirements.
