You have had the opportunity to survey eight key models of couple and family therapy. You may want to pursue additional training in some of these models. Over this semester, many resources, such as websites, were offered in the textbook and in your class. You probably have also discovered many relevant resources on your own.
Tasks:
In a minimum of 200 words, post to the Discussion Area your response to the following:
Discuss your interest in obtaining further training (daylong; conference; or intensive, long term) in two areas related to systems approaches. Please note that you are not committing yourself to actually paying for or attending the training. Instead, you are learning how to access additional training beyond the class and university as part of your ongoing career development. Areas for additional training may include:
Special populations of couples or families (e.g., couples where one or both members have served in the military)
Particular ages or generations in the family (e.g., grandparents or great-grandparents)
Particular system treatment models (e.g., strategic family therapy)
Support your rationale and analysis by using at least two resources from professional literature in your response. Professional literature may include the National Louis University online library resources; relevant textbooks; peer-reviewed journal articles; and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (websites ending in .edu or .gov).
Your discussion posts and all written assignments should reflect graduate-level writing skills and appropriate use of APA style, including in-text citations and references.
