Weekly Assignment: 60 pts
Class Presentations
In this assignment, each student will submit a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation of their research proposal with supporting literature (including peer reviewed research), and a hypothetical client scenario.
At least two slides should be dedicated to summarizing the student’s field work, including observations of the support group meeting attended, and responses obtained from the substance abuse counselor interview. The student will present their slide deck during an on-campus class meeting, or webinar for a virtual class meeting. (Alternatively, the student will submit the Power Point presentation to the course professor with speaker notes, such that it is presentation ready).
Abstinence Experience Reflection
After your 4-5 weeks of abstinence (begun in Module 2), write a reflection paper about your experiences, include emotional responses, episodes of craving, relapse, and determination. Share how the experiences may inform your future clinical work. Your paper should be 2 – 3 pages in length.
