Imagine you are teaching a class for a developmental psychology undergraduate course at a local community college. You are lecturing on the topic of Bronfenbrenner’s theory and want to be sure that learners understand both the broad bi-directional framework (including the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem) and the more recent conceptualization application of Bronfenbrenner’s model, as well as the framework of risk and resilience. Knowing these concepts can be challenging, you want to present the broad foundational concepts related to both Bronfenbrenner’s model and risk and resilience framework to your class.
In your presentation, you evaluate each model and present your students with relevant strengths and weaknesses of each. Additionally, you include examples and applications in your lecture to illustrate and make the concepts more accessible for your undergraduate learners in at least one of the following areas:
- Family.
- School.
- Peer relationships.
- Submit a 3–4 page written verbatim lecture in language appropriate for undergraduate learners.
- As part of the lecture, include examples of applying both Bronfenbrenner’s model and risk and resilience framework model to child and adolescent development to illustrate and make the concepts more accessible for your undergraduate learners on at least one of the following areas: family, school, and peer relationships.
