Paper Instructions
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduates are clinical experts who directly or indirectly translate evidence into practice, generate new knowledge through innovation of practice, and implement systems changes to improve patient and population outcomes. The DNP graduate is prepared to function in a variety of roles in the healthcare environment.
The student will write a scholarly paper that analyzes the role(s) of the DNP in clinical practice, educational settings, and healthcare systems and discusses how the DNP demonstrates leadership, communication, and interprofessional collaborative skills in the clinical setting to improve patient and population outcomes.
Assignment Criteria:
1. Analyze and discuss the DNP’s role(s) in:
• Clinical Practice
• Educational Settings
• Healthcare Systems
2. Discuss how the DNP demonstrates leadership, communication, and interprofessional and collaborative skills aimed at improving patient and population outcomes
3. The scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 3 to 4 pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages.
4. Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.
5. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.
6. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’), and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.
7. Include a minimum of 3 professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) that are less than five years old.
8. APA format is required (attention to spelling/grammar, a title page, a reference page, and in-text citations)
