I. Presentation (20 pts.)

1. Is the paper typed in a 12 pt. font, double‐spaced (Times, Times New Roman, Calibri, Cambria, or Arial) with no more than one‐inch margins?

II. Ethical Orientations (30 points)

In which way do the main questions or theses of the paper stem from or revolve around ethical theories and or ethical issues covered in the course?

1. If comparative, the paper must compare and contrast two ethical theories, or elements/parts/aspects/tenets of two different ethical theories.
2. If critical, the paper must analyze objectively ethical arguments of both sides of a morally contested issue/topic (example: euthanasia, abortion, government snooping, premarital sex, health care law, gun control, genetically modified food or genetically modified organisms, child labor, outsourcing, and sex slaves).

III. Composition/Development/Organization of Ideas/Arguments (100 pts.)

1. Is the paper presented in a clear, concise way?
2. Does the paper stay focused on questions raised or theses stated (for and against)?
3. Is it clear which side, if any, is being supported?
4. Are both sides of the issue presented?
5. Does the paper meet the minimum requirement of pages?

IV. Documentation/Academic Integrity (50 pts.)

1. Are outside resources used to support/dissuade from both sides of the issue?
2. Are citations used throughout the paper to show where information is taken?
3. Is a bibliography APA) provided at the end?
4. Does the paper feature at least seven (7) credible books or peer-reviewed articles (or a combination)?
