Discussion board participation will be assessed using the participation rubric as a guide. When appropriate make sure to use citations and references utilizing APA format.

Leadership Strategy Discussion | Using the module readings, other scholarly sources, and your assessment results: discuss a leadership strategy (leadership theory, leadership type, leadership quality, or any combination) that utilizes your strengths and supports your values. Discussion Posts Format: Please ensure that all discussion entries are posted directly into the discussion board and not submitted as an attachment. This allows the reader and responder ease in back and forth discussions. I’m not concerned about font size and indention formatting on discussion posts due to blackboard nuances, but rather ensuring that you are giving the author(s) proper credit in proper format for their work. In this course, you are allowed to use either APA 6th or APA 7th edition. However, do pick one and use it throughout the course. I have added the Purdue Owl website link under Start Here which allows you to access both APA version formats. APA cannot be memorized, so keep your APA tools handy throughout the course. Scholarly Writing: All assignments in the course and throughout the program have a scholarly component whereas there is an expectation for professional writing requisite to the English language while providing supporting evidence. Recent peer reviewed journal articles in addition to your texts are great examples of scholarly sources. You may also use classic leadership articles and books, as modern leadership approaches are often steeped in classic theory and practice. Plagiarism Avoidance: In order to be a scholarly writer and avoid plagiarism: All references listed on reference sheet (or at end of discussion) must have at least one in-text citation. All in-text citations must have a reference listed on the reference page (or in the references at the end of your discussion). All in-text citations and references must be properly formatted. All quotes must be properly formatted. Do not overuse quotes. Do not cite the author(s) names when the statement (words) are actually your opinion or reflection. Do not give the author credit for your opinion, and do not give yourself credit for the author’s work. Be careful not to use second source citations or limit them; it is always best to go to the original source if possible. Generally APA page formatting is required in all non discussion board assignments and should include title page, reference page, proper font, indentions, italics (or not), page numbers, etc. For assignment and course questions, please use the Course Question Forum in the Discussion Board so that all students can take advantage of the answers and clarifications. |
