Mid-term Exam (30%):.This open-book exam/case study will be short answer and scheduled during the normal class time. It will cover the assigned articles, PPTs, lectures and videos as theories and practices that can be applied to real world situations. During the course of the semester you may want to reflect on business examples in the news that relate to our discussions.
Research Paper (30%): Several of the topics in this seminar are reflected in some of the more interesting news events. Scan the press, magazines, on-line news sources and choose a topic that is relevant to the course and is of significant interest to you. There are several sites that provide outlines on how to write a research paper. MGT 4800 Midterm Exam
APA Format, style/referencing is required. You can find this on-line or ask at the Writing Center. This is a good source to review writing approaches, business style, outlining, paper structure and grammar, and references. They can also work with you online. 973-720-2633.
Length: 6-10 pages, 12 pt. font, double spaced, single-sided. Papers need to be submitted under Assignments on Blackboard -word docs only.

POLICIES: 1. Expect that assignments may be changed –just like in business. Pay attention to BB and email. 2. Pay attention to the Due dates on your class Schedule. Late DB responses will be accepted, but not read. Late papers or are not accepted. There are no make-up exams. Work schedule conflicts, sports events and personal issues are not valid reasons to miss any due dates. 3. 4. Please see me as soon as possible to discuss any grade issues. Grades will NOT be changed after the semester ends. The syllabus is subject to change. Please monitor BB and WPU email.
