Answer
Placement is an essential process in human resource management. Human resource managers use this practice to identify those employees who are capable of doing the task. Ideally, it is one of the elimination methods that are used to identify those who do not understand what they are expected to do after the placement.
During placement, employees tend to behave decently to assure their employers that they are ready for the task.
The main aim of the placement is to assign a specific job to the employees (Hutter and Ellwood 2019). This paper analyses the most critical professional learning tool that should be used during placement.
Applying theory to practice is one of the tools that should be applied by employees. Notably, many learning institutions concentrate on theoretical assumptions as a method for learning. With this regard, most of the books, including those of management, were written some years back.
When an employee is placed on his first job, it is always an opportunity to apply theory to practice. Academic qualifications are an essential element that is considered by many employers.
However, academic papers do not portray the physical capabilities of the employees. Instead, it gives employers a theoretical overview of the employee. Therefore, employees should know how to apply theory to practice to meet the expectations of the employer.
Employers should also be fully aware of the standards of proficiency and code of conduct and ethics. Regardless of the industry in which a company operates, there are always rules and regulations that govern the particular organization.
To monitor employee’s behavior, many organizations set useful codes of conduct that all employees should adhere to. Employees who are not aware of such ethical standards are more likely to behave contrary to the codes of conduct as compared to those who are aware of it.
Almost all organizations consider the production of quality products. The proficiency of the employees is based on whether they are aware of the required standards or not. For instance, the organization can have a given format for writing business reports.
If an employee is not aware of such an arrangement, they are likely to prepare business reports using other templates other than the prescribed one. Based on such a scenario, employees should be taken through the organization’s code of conduct and what they are expected to do. Being aware of the code of conduct will enable employees to perform appropriately.
Self-awareness is a personal learning tool that is important in placement. Knowing more about oneself is useful in areas such as placement. Being aware of oneself also enables employees to understand what they should avoid and what they should encourage. In regards to encouragement, employees can develop intrinsic motivation strategies by being aware of their emotions.
In the long run, self-awareness promotes employees’ success in terms of overall performance. For instance, if an employee is aware that he is short-tempered, he may not engage in arguments with his colleagues. Instead, he may decide to be silent to avoid the consequences.
Moreover, self-awareness is directly linked to self-motivation and stress management. Employees who have self-awareness can quickly identify some activities that can enable them to manage stress, including work pressure. For example, some can realize that going on vacations with people they love can help them reduce stress.
Consequently, some can decide to do their hobbies or even take walks in nature (Musa et al., 2016). Self-awareness boosts self-confidence. This can help employees to get rid of evil thoughts in their head. In summary, self-awareness is an essential personal tool that all employees should be aware of during placement.
Knowing what the job description entails is another essential element. In this case, I intend to learn about report writing. Employees who are not aware of their job descriptions may not play a vital role in the achievement of organizational goals. Before placement, employees should be mindful of what they are expected to do and how they will do it. Another area of interest is to understand the role of social workers by observation.
As far as learning on the job is concerned, employees can learn through observation. The ideas learned through such areas should be put into practice. Also, engaging in supervision is an essential aspect of placement. Many employers need qualified and reliable employees. They tend to assess the employee’s capabilities to place them on the job that they can handle. In summary, the job description entails what an employee is expected to do.
