Susek Conflict Case Study, Part 1
Paper details:
Read Susek, Firestorm, pp. 9-66 and provide a 2 page/1,000-1,100 word summary/case description of the conflict. The idea is for you to describe it in such a way someone who has not read the book will understand the major characters and the development of the conflict. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not have a copy of the Susek text available, a pdf of the required pages have been provided. Additionally, One must Analyze the Susek case using sections from the Course Notebook (that has been attached) as designated below. You must reference page numbers from Susek that are dealt with specifically in your paper, and use a bare minimum of quotes.
Your papers must demonstrate conspicuously your awareness of the content of the readings. Form is word-processed (single-spaced in 12 pt. Times font).
1. From the section, “Conflict-Related Themes in the Bible” (Course Notebook, 1), choose at least three themes and at least one biblical passage from each theme that addresses the Susek conflict. Write 100 words describing how each theme is reflected and how the Bible passage(s) address it (minimum 100 words per theme)
2. From the section, “Attitudes and Behaviors that Affect Conflict Outcomes” (Course Notebook, 2), choose at least three of the “Factors that Cause Us to Slip” that are demonstrated in the Susek conflict. Write 100 words describing how each factor manifests itself in that conflict and how the corresponding “Stabilizing Factor” would help in this situation (minimum 100 words per factor).
